In The Air Tonight

I've been thinking, the lyrics to "In The Air Tonight," by Phil Collins..

"Well if you told me you were drowning"

(there was no real drowning, it's just a metaphor)

"I would not lend a hand
I've seen your face before, my friend
But I don't know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies"

(now the first person talking recognizes the second, but the second probably doesn't recognize the first.. so why is that? simple, there is no real second person; the second person is just the first person when he was younger.. make sense? the older self has finally come to terms with his fuck-ups in his youth.. probably cos the older self feels like he's going to die soon..)

"I can feel it, comin' in the air tonight, oh Lord
I've been waitin' for this moment, all my life, oh Lord
Can you feel it comin' in the air tonight, oh Lord?"

(I feel so high right now.)
